History of the Journal Crisolenguas is the official electronic journal of the Foreign Languages Department at the University of Puerto Rico. It was founded in February 2007. The name Crisolenguas was chosen for its connotation with a medley of languages. Figuratively, crisol stands for a site where ideas come together so that information can be shared and discussed. During a meeting in May 2007, the editorial board decided to adopt the current design for the lifetime of the journal. We used logos found on the website of the Univesity of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus as symbols of our mission to represent the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus in the Caribbean and in the world. For the banner, we used the design inspired from the sculptures on the tower of the University. For the |o| in "crisol", we took the logo adopted for the centenary of the University in 2003.
